Independent Report Shows Growing Space Debris Threat

 

The National Research Council (NRC), a nonprofit science policy organization, on Thursday (9/1) released the results of its survey of the work NASA needs to do to meet the escalating threat of space debris. And as Space.com reports, the NRC found, "There is so much junk in space that collisions could start to increase exponentially, leading to a continuously growing pile of rubble in orbit."
