From experience, we can say that being there is like being in heaven. You will get to buy fresh chocolate in all its forms and types, drink it while it's hot or taste a piece cut out from a sculpture made entirely by chocolate in a day!

1. Eurochocolate in Perugia, Italy
It is considered the largest chocolate festival in the world! The festival hosts all kinds of events, from chocolate sculpting, to cooking classes and of course, chocolate sampling!

2. Choco-Late Festival: Brugge, Belgium

World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, Memphis, Tennessee, USA

Memphis in May's World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is May 16-18, 2013 at Tom Lee Park in Memphis. Hundreds of teams compete for over $110,000 in prizes and supreme bragging rights. Teams adorn their areas with elaborate decoration, trophies attesting to their boasting rights, and as one can imagine, clever and creative team names.
While grilling is the main theme, the contest wouldn't be complete without the Ms. Piggie Idol competition where the finest swine tests their vocal skills, and grown men dress in tutus and snouts and women kick their heels (hooves) up. There is also a t-shirt competition and even a best booth contest.

Louisiana's International Rice Festival

One of Louisiana's oldest festivals, the International Rice Festival attracts 150,000 people to the town of Crowley annually. Special events include a livestock show, rice cooking, eating and grading contests and two parades, including a procession of antique farm equipment.

Other events include a Farmers' Banquet and Queens Ball, French accordion, fiddle and harmonica contests and frog jumping. Since the inauguration of the festival in 1937, it has been visited by over seven million people.

World Food Day

World Food Day is celebrated on 16 October and this year's theme is “Agricultural Cooperatives - key to feeding the world” which has been chosen to highlight the role that cooperatives actually play in improving the security of food and helping towards the eradication of hunger worldwide.

The interest in cooperatives is also evident in the UN General Assembly’s decision to designate the year 2012 “International year of Cooperatives”.
